Hello, and thanks for looking at this sale!
Up for grabs is a USGI Cold War-eraM1 helmet nape strap.
Thisnape strap (or heckband) is new-old-stock, and was removed from a bundle of10 nape straps. They are brand new, and have never been on a helmet. Unfortunately, the stock number and contract number are only partially visible, due to the seams, so I am unable to tell you what year these were manufactured. I would assume they were manufactured between 1965 and the early 1980s, for the M1 helmet.
This nape strap was originally bought from a vendor in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in the 2002timeframe, when I was deployedto the 30th Intelligence Squadron at Langley AFBforOperation Southern Watch, and then Enduring Freedom.
The vendorhad a whole closet of NOS items in a dead stock closet, including nape straps, headbands, chinstraps, and liner suspension webbing, and Ibought the whole lot. This original USGI nape strapwould be a great addition to a collection of Cold Waritems!
Put in your offer for this great piece of American history!
