C128 VGA Module - GGLabs CGA2RGB/new, non-GBS-82xx video scaler (Warm Gray)
Note: The rest of the items I sell like this will be printed with my custom C128 Beige filament. This will be the only Warm Gray (also one of my custom filaments) I'll print.
Reviews:
For several months I've been testing scan doublers from many manufacturers for use with Commodore computers. I've tested the low-end, cheap GBS-82xx based scan doublers, the high-end, very expensive GBS8219 ("XVGA Box"), the Ambery AV-1M and many others in between.
I came across a moderately-priced board that makes adjusting the screen dimensions incredibly easy (no menus to navigate!) and offers video quality that surpasses the high-end/expensive boards. The board, which I'm using in this device, is very, very close to the HDMI quality board I've tested and doesn't exhibit the horizontal scaling banding (moiré distortion that appears as vertical lines on some screen patterns, like a checkerboard pattern) seen with all the other scalers.
What can you do with this? This device allows you to view the RGBI (80-column mode) video from your C128 on a VGA monitor. It will not adapt the 40-column video for a VGA monitor.

As such, I decided that this is the only "complete" VGA-based video scan doubler I will sell. I'll still sell the cases for the GBS-82xx series, but I won't sell any more GBS electronics. What you'll get:
  • A complete, 3D printed case using my custom color-matched filaments
  • New, non-GBS-based scaler electronics
  • New GGLabs CGA2RGB (enhanced version)
  • All internal wiring is done and tested
  • 5V2A power supply
  • C128 video cable

What you need to provide:
  • Commodore 128 or another RGBI-based device (IBM PC with CGA, Tandy 1000, arcade CGA)
  • VGA cable (this cable plugs in to the blue connector on the scaler)
  • VGA monitor

Note:I adjust these boards prior to sending them. However, if you press the Reset button, the device will re-adjust the screen to its default size. You may or may not see video artifacts at the bottom of the screen after doing this. Simply re-adjust the video size (height, vertical position) to eliminate this noise.
The Amiga version of this item may be found here.

On Dec-10-17 at 15:08:08 PST, seller added the following information:

NOTE: This item *can* be used with an Amiga. The CGA2RGB would have to be unplugged/removed and an appropriate Amiga video cable would have to be wired to the pin header block on the video scaler. This is the same wiring that would have to be done to use an Amiga with a GBS-82xx board.
