Rare french provincial Normandy longcase in carved oak clock named St Nicolas made around 1780. The 8 days movement chimes the hours and the half and was made by Méquignon at Neufchatel near St Nicolas d\'Aliermont in Normandy. The longcase in solid oak is delicacy all hand carving with flowers leaves. The bell is signed \"Dubois ici au Puy\"by Dubois bell maker in Le Puy en Velay. The enamel dial is hand painting and in good condition only a chip below the 15. The carved case is in great condition the movement works with its original weights only the pendulum and the chains have been changed. 92\"1/2 high overall 18\" width at the head and 5\"3/4 depth.
