Gustave Becker German Antique 1910 Oak Grandfather or Tall Case Clock For Sale

All original, the wormy oak case has a beautiful finish with minor mars and a little wear, see photos. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.

The hammered brass dial shows a few spots to the lacquer finish, see photos. Embossed and lacquered brass pendulum and weights are beautiful on this antique furniture from Europe.

The brass movement keeps excellent time and runs for a week when wound by pulling the chains. There is a strike on the hour and half. Glass over the dial is convex, oval door glass is beveled and the lock and key work.

Measurements of this classic case are 22 1/2\" wide, 12\" deep and 6\' 6\" tall.

This clock needs to be \"set up\" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
