Setup was a breeze as it's just "plug and play" on the network. No setup via interface is needed or available so it's just physical hookup. Switches speed up transfers between machines with Gigabit ports (most all of my computers) so it's important on my network for file sharing traffic from machine to machine. Wireless just can't compare! Another company's gigabit switch I bought a while back had problems at a specific setup I have whereas this Trendnet switch runs flawlessly in the same setup.

The TRENDnet TEG S5g does what it says. It is an unmanaged 5 port Gigabit switch. With all new A/V equipment needing internet access this gives your router those added ports you need. I had more equipment then my Linksys 5 port wireless router could handle. The switch is easy to set up, plug it in and it's on, then plug your cables in. It would have be nice to have one in port but hey you can't have everything at this price. The main selling point for me was the 5 gigabit ports and the price. If I need more ports I'll need to add a patch pannel but for small but groing networks this switch is easy and wil do the job well.
small footprint light weight good performance

This is an excellent Gigabit switch giving me full-on connection to my network at 1Gigabits per second, so I can transfer files at blazing fast speeds. I was originally running a 100Megabit switch which just wasn't fast enough anymore.
Great equipment, Nice
