This is my second nifghthawk router, the first is still working. But I just bought a 4000 st home. And have 2 computers,7 tablets, 1 surface pro 4 and 3 kids that are always streaming Netflix, or Amazon Prime movies. I have 4 Wansview wireless 1080 up cams and thought this would lessen the load of 1 running everything. 2 the new house has 3 floors, and just want to make sure I have full saturation of Wi-Fi signal. 1080 up cams transfer alot on data, because of the 1080 resolution, I just don't want the network to bog down. I could just turn off the ship that assigns up addresses, but I going to keep it on and create a new Wi-Fi bubble (What I call a new wireless entity) and just sign the wireless Ip cams to that network. I'm sure I don't have any problems, or at least the can't be rectified.Read full review

This router is as bad as a router can be, has issues that could be in some made 20 years ago. Very time consuming to setup, not difficult but some settings require 2-3 minutes to apply Takes 2-3 minutes to boot Hard to get online with the modem, I had to use the MAC of my previous modem The router jams once or twice a day, no internet, the 4 LAN ports become inactive, it does not even respond to pings. I have the latest firmware, I have been talking to tech support at Netgear for days, trying everything. My network does not have a problem as my old Netgear WNR2000 works just fine. Hard to believe such a bad quality router is in the market.

Don't buy, I wish that I did more reviews before buying. I attempted to install last weekend and was not getting internet to the router. Modem worked perfectly fine. After attempts to restart, I contacted customer support. After spending more than a half hour on the phone, I was told that the router was no good and could not be fixed to perform. I bought a different router that day from a nearby Walmart.

Need a fantastic router but aren't ready to pay $$$ for the Nighthawk X-series? This one will do you just fine. Even items daisy-chained through a secondary older ASUS router are getting ridiculous data speeds. So far, every speed test taken shows that I now exceed my provider's limits for download and upload by at least 10% (but I'm not telling). Even though I don't have this in the most optimal position (in a media drawer, no less). HIGHLY recommend especially for the money - hard to imagine a better router at this price point.

It is much better than the verizon standard router. It supports 5g as well as 2 g networks and has a powerful range compared to what I had been getting for my WIFI. My cellphone work better as well as by Roku device and security wifi cameras. very happy with the product
