    Not so easy

The Belkin router has been doing it's job, but it wasn't easy to setup for WiFi, as there was a problem with talking to the modem. Three calls to the internet provider, Belkin support guy and a modem tecky was necessary before I called in a savvy friend, who with a support gal solved the problem. It was a rather frustrating experience when the CD setup didn't get the job done. But life is full of obstacles, for which it's nice to find a friend to help. Herb

  • Belkin vs D-Link DIR 615

I bought this router because I was having a little trouble with my old D-Link DI-624 router, and I was also adding a Roku Player, as well as wireless Internet Telephone, and hoped to get improved speed. I also bought a D-Link DIR-615 N Router, erroneously believing that it would function as a wireless bridge. The D-Link DIR-615 did not work as a wireless bridge, and their phone support was abysmal. I bought a Linksys WBP54G wireless bridge instead. It was made to work with the phone adaptor. The Belkin Router did not work with the WBP54G bridge. I made only one call to Belkin, and they offered a solution which did not help. I did not contact them again, although I believe that they would have persisted until they found a working solution. It is probably some configuration problem, but it ...

  • Cute, yes its very cute for a router.

Only reason why I gave her such a low score was due to the fact that she CAN NO BE USED IN BRIDGE/REPEATER MODE. Otherwise she's a real good router. Small, cute and very reliable as well as give off a very decent range with impressive signal. Very easy to set up, even through her advanced features or just use the disc she comes with. Simple enough for a kid to install. Great security features to boot. Gotta luv her blue led lights!!! Disco!!!! Cheers Reki

  • Slickest wireless router I've dealt with and major improvement over Gs.

Seemed to be getting interference of signal with my G routers and cell phones, so decided to upgrade to N system. WOW! The set up of the Belkin wireless router was slick, even with different brand cards and different operating systems on machines around the house. It was an effortless transition, unlike switching my Netgear and D-Link routers. I always expect anything technological to take twice as long as it should because of operator errors, but this was a "no-brainer". Love the difference in the signal quality around the house, seems to have taken care of the problem for the internet, wish it was that simple for cell service! Have never had a Belkin product fail me, but I'm impressed here - small, simple, appealing, and great value!

  • Great router/access point, but know the hardware rev.

Very easy to setup and use. Very stable in operation. I've tried a few of these now (I've setup a couple of access points with them, too). Downloading and upgrading the firmware is also very straightforward, too (but make sure you know the hardware version and get the correct firmware). A couple of things to note: The v1 hardware level wouldn't connect downstream from another router, even another belkin. It had to connect directly to the modem and only the modem to work. The v2 and v3 would work properly connected to another router. This would eliminate a v1 (assuming this is a general problem) from being used as a wireless access point. The different hardware versions supported different security protocols. The v1 the least, the v3 the most.
