The performance on this router is pretty great, It is strong in streaming and it has plenty of different feautures. One I like the most are guest networks.

2011 router that still serves it up.
Released in 2011, and still a premium router. It's a name-sake in the ever evolving Netgear Genie software for iOS, Android, PC and MAC. As far as routers go, what's the difference? I have my wireless device, it turns on, I'm happy, right? If internet is as important to you as it is in our house, then this makes a difference: Netflix for the kids, on demand network TV for her, and streamed radio in the garage, all at HD? Try managing a Facetime call in there on an iPad and see how all the other systems manage. Sound like your needs? So let's be real here, WiFi 802.11ac is here, but who has any devices that actually serve this up? iPhone 5S - nope. Galaxy S4 - not at full 1GB duplexing... What for real, on the market device is using this high speed that's at as norm? Nothing really. Most ... Released in 2011, and still a premium router. So if you think your newest latest gadgets will need something made this year, think again. HD video needs N150 which was present in the first draft editions of N as MIMO, so that's 2004ish. The fact that a percentage of people out there are still using the blurple Linksys WRT54 series routers says, the industry isn't changing that fast. A router like this, which is the only router I use at home, and hits a full 3/4 acre lot edge to edge says it will be good for the NEXT 5 years easily. With it's ability to provide 4 SSIDs, two of which can be isolated into guest broadcasts says it's set up with more than the average user in mind: small business, churches and the like should be investigating this router as well. To boot, it offers 1GB ports for the hardlines so it eliminates itself as the bottleneck in your network, leaving your own access points and the Internet Service Provider as the weak points. Immense range, high reliability, and good connectivity to Netgear's range extenders if needed for multiple floors, or over 3000sqft single floor areas.

AWFUL product and worse customer service!!!
I purchased this router because of good reviews and initially the router worked great then on day 92 (had 90 day warranty) the router range dropped to less than 10 feet. Netgear told me to update the firmware and it quit working totally!! They FINALLY agreed after much talking to replace my router, which all they did was to send me a refurb router. This one lasted 9 months and has also lost range and will only produce enough signal for one bar in the same room 12 feet away!!! Net gear said that they could not do anything.....Bad product and worse customer service. Never again another Netgear product!!!!!I purchased this router because of good reviews and initially the router worked great then on day 92 (had 90 day warranty) the router range dropped to less than 10 feet. Awesome router, tons of features, perfect for people who like to stream
Excellent! Love the DLNA sharing - I can hook up my 2TB external right to the router and play songs on any DLNA device - xbox, ps3, android phone, smart tv, etc! Very fast - 2 bands for your selection - though I have not noticed any performance increase between the two (2ghz and 5ghz bands). In my experience, the 5ghz had a little more signal loss than the 2ghz band on my galaxy s3... the further I got, the lower the signal dropped on the 5ghz.. switched to the 2ghz and the signal went to full.
