Works fine on my G4 laptops, one has Tiger 10.4.11 and doesn't recognize ANY WiFi except this one. Also recognized real fast on my Snow Leopard 10.5.8. Hit the reset button first to get rid of the previous owners password was the only hurdle. Seamless after that. Don't confuse this for the one with the hard drive though even though they look almost exactly the same. USB port will add a printer but not a hard drive.

Updated my older netgear router that performed well for quite a few years but was a nightmare(for me anyway) to setup or to add any new device. I have an Airport Express that I use for wireless speakers(not router option). It is plugged in 24/7 and worked/still working flawlessly so that was my main reason for selecting the Extreme. This router is very easy to setup. I had it up and running with all my devices attached within 5 minutes! A nice feature is the "guest network". Will let visitors use the network with a specific code selected by you. Another nice feature is the status light will flash to let you know of any firmware updates. I am very pleased with performance, range, ease of setup so far.
As with any apple product, these routers are made really robust. They work flawlessly and seldom hangs with a need to reset or restart. I have used dozens of wireless routers in the last decade or so, from every popular brand including Cisco small business, but nothing comes even close to this in terms of stability. The best part is that if you are mac user, the configuration is so simply using the airport utility in mac. Just imagine you plug the power into the router, no network cables, no wireless configuration done yet, but still the airport utility detects an airport router around that you can configure right from the mac without any wires apart from the power in it. But one should know that this is not configurable using a browser, you have to use only the airport utility in Mac or download one for windows to configure this. There is no web configuration possible. You can however configure it in such a way that you could even manage this via internet/WAN but no browser based config. I don't think it is a big deal that no browser config is possible.Read full review
Solid as a rock. Had it running now for three months and have not had to reset or even look at it. Easy setup,(apple user, can't speak for setup on PC) Signal covers my house, yard and basement easily: streams video and music to backyard patio and/or basement without a hitch. It has a nice feature that allow automatic backup of network computers to a directly connected USB Drive. Make sure, to get the 5th generation if you want need to cover a large area.
I wanted to connect many devices to the internet, the Extreme will allow me hook up to 50 devices per channel and there 2 channels. I hooked 3) Mac Minis (all at 5Ghz), an IBM ThinkPad R51, a DishTV 722 DVR, a Wii, and a Kobo ebook reader on the lower channel (2.48Ghz). Using this device is "KIS", I had this item connected to the internet, power and my Mini in cyber space.(15 min.)
