My ISP recently switched from 5Mbps to 10Mbps for the standard rate. I found I wasn't even getting the 5Mbps. The techs suggested changing out the modem. Of course you can pay for the ISPs modem for the rest of your life or buy one. I ended up buying three of these. One for my DSL line, a backup and one for a neighbor. They worked perfectly. I use them in the transparent mode but they also can work as a router, but not wireless.
There are endless routers to suit the needs of everyone but very limited choices when it comes to modem. I have ATT DSL and I strongly dislike their standard modem. I have tried modem/router combo but their life span is questionable. Needed a basic modem so I can connect whatever router I want without much trouble and this one worked for me. For DSL service, if your having trouble getting it to work, might have to call them and ask for settings and login/pw for your DSL.
Works with Acanac insantly. Cute & Small dsl modem. Very easy to use. Works great with Acanac. It's refurbished but the unit looks brand new and sealed in bag. Great deal. Best DSL modem I ever used. Come with a free DSL filter too.
The modem was very easy to install and easy to use. It works very well without it slowing down your computer. I've had one of these before and never had any problems with the overall performance that's why I wanted another one. Good product and I would reccomend it to anyone looking to purchase a new modem always been very happy with the product.
Instruction for set up was in rough handwriting with less explaining words which difficult to understand. Connection speed seems fast, but disconnected intermittently every a few hours with unknown reason.
