Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Save on Night Vision
Bought to try and find coyotes at night. Went out tonight to try it out and was surprised at some things and disappointed by others. I could barely see one of our paint horses with just my eyes. Looked at it with the night vision scope and saw her great but also noticed one of our bay horses laying on the ground right by her. That was great cause I could not see him at all. That was about 90 feet. If you are close to trees or brush, the IR lights the trees or brush up so much that you cant see beyond that. You can look through the scope with it OFF, and seems to work. Turn it ON with the IR OFF, it makes no difference. When you turn ON the IR it does illuminate what you are looking at, but it depends on a lot of other circomstances. The IR works for about 80 or 100 yards I guess but not well the further out you get. But why does it work when in the OFF position, and in the ON position makes no difference? It really only works with the IR ON, it seems. It is very small which I like a lot, cause when mounted on the rifle, it fits nicely. It is light, so does not add weight to the rifle it seems. I love that you can use it with a scope or red/green dot and put it on and take it off whenever you want without messing up any adjustments on sighting. Since it works with the red/green dot or scope, you just sight in the scope and add the night vision as needed. No need to have a rifle dedicated to only night vision. I am just not convinced that it is going to be usable for what I was hoping for. I should also mention there is a focus adjustment on the front(very touchy)and also on the eyepiece. They have to be adjusted separately and is pretty cumbersome and in some instances don't work well. All in all, I could not recommend it. Never looked through another one so can't judge it against others.Read full review
Have Vortex strike fire system on my AR with night vision button. Attach SightMark Ghost Hunter NVD. System IR, cause large ghost image/burr 1/2 inside vortex system, not able to see target. Front focus very touches. Base mount on Sightmark NVD plastic, have be very careful when tighting, easy to strip out. Using it as a monocular it not to bad, vision out to 75 yd with IR on. Using it with Vortex system. Not please with Sightmark ghost hunter. Have own other NVD. Would not recommend this product for scope use, if use as monocular I rate it as 6, for scope rate it as 1.
It's more of a novelty item. I mean the real deal NV is about 20 times the cost.

please do not buy this. it doesn't even have crosshairs. it is not a rifle scope- it is a monocular. IT DOESN'T WORK. it's not even a good childs toy. i returned mine immediately. these shouldn't even be sold. you can get a good night rifle scope for $400, but they are heavy. i have good $400 scopes that are heavy but work well and stand up to .222, 7.62, and even .308.
