I bought this 8-port switch after prior experience with product. I needed to replace another 7-port switch at our church, so I purchased the same one I use on my home network. This is an inexpensive but reliable 8 port device, port 8 also works an an uplink to your router. Likes: It just works. Rarely needs rebooting. Works well for media sharing (?Soundbridge) and movie streaming (Netflix, etc.) with no dropouts or hiccups. Dislikes: It's limited to "fast ethernet" 10/100, not Gigabit. The case looks like it would stack cleanly with other Linksys products (like my WRT56G router) but it doesn't (that's a minor point, but annoyingly typical of Linksys designs).
Unlike other switches this one works without any issues what so ever, and works flawlessly so far for a few weeks! It's also in a nicely vented case with a decent ac adapter. Very nice, reliable switch. And I just bought another for a spare at a very good price level just in case it's ever needed.

As a switch, this device works very well. This switch has 8 ports, with the 8th port shared with an uplink connector, allowing the user to connect it to a port on one's router , to add 7 usable ports to connect additional PC's, printer servers, etc. I originally bought this item expecting to stack it on my LinkSYS WRT54G wireless router. This device looks 'similar' in the picture, but is, in real life, about an inch narrower than the WRT54G, meaning...it won't stack. Bottom line, it's a smaller footprint 10/100 BT ethernet switch, and works well for it's original intended purpose of adding 7 additional ports to one's network.
Bought this switch to provide a connection for 3 printers to my home network. Tied right in with existing hardware, does the job well

Purchased to add wired connections to my Samsung LED TV, Samsung Blu-ray player, Macmini and AT&T M-Cell in the same area. Works great and setup was extremely easy. 100MB connection is fast and works better than my previous wireless setup. I connect this through a WRT54G Linksys wireless router running Tomato 1.28 firmware and a motorola Surfboard modem through Time warner cable. I love my new setup.
