This is my first night vision scope and I'm impressed. The IR 850 worked better than I planned and will easy reach 150 yard on the low setting. The one shot sight-in is just that and I never would have believed it if I hadn't done it myself. How rugged is it, time will tell but it seem to be well built. Got this for coyotes in the yard at night. I'm sure this will do the trick. Weight is a minus. A little heavy to carry and free hand for long periods. There is a learning curve when it comes to the operation of all the options. Practice with it for a little bit (day or two) before heading out the first time.

Ah.... It's ok for the money. The cord is any other usb cord with a 90deg connector. The cover barely slides into the threads of the original cover. The usb plug will hold it in place. If I pull out the usb with the cover still attached I can see light around the hole in the cover that the plug is in. Probably not a big deal unless a total down pore hits. But I'm sealing it with silicone and keeping the two together. Not impressed.

After receiving my X-Sight II HD 3-14, I was finally able to get it out in a "real world" environment to hunt hogs. Before heading out, I spent a few evenings reading the manuals, getting familiar with the menus and reading the ATN Owners forum. When I finally took it to the filed, I spent some time working the One Shot Zero feature and after getting that set to my satisfaction, spent an entire evening using the scope and testing the features. After 8-10 hours in a stand, I am very impressed with the function and usability of the sight. I think this will be my go to sight for just about any hunting I may do. I did add an external battery bank and instead of a buttstock pouch, I printed a picatinney mount for the Anker battery on a 3D printer (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1363977) and will add a Butler Creek #39 flip cover with a 1/2" hole in it to the front lens sheath.Read full review

Have not yet mounted on the rifle, hence the 4 stars. Ihad to wait a week after it arrived so that I could order an external battery pack and a micro sd card. I should have read up closer when I order the scope. I now have the firmware installed and everything seems to be working perfectly. I played with the night vision in my yard, but was having a terrible time with focusing the scope and the flashlight. So, I don't yet know how the night vision is going to perform 'till I get it out in the field. Just be sure when ordering one for yourself that you also order the external battery. Regular alkaline AA's will not last and you are taking a chance of crashing the scope when downloading firmware. They recommend lithium ion batteries if you use the AA's.

You can buy other brands that are only day light scopes or you can buy this and have their features and night time vision. Great value for the dollar.
