    Belkin Battery Backup

ATT no longer supplies battery backup with their residential gateways. If you think making 911 calls is an important reason for having a land line then you certainly need a battery backup. The Belkin Rev B battery backup is designed for the purpose and appears to be well constructed. However, it is all about the battery. The battery is the key component of the system therefore you need to be certain the battery is good. Many sellers do not supply the battery which is okay as long as you figure that expense in your total cost. At least that way you know you have a good battery from the start. Many recommend the battery be changed every 3 years so eventually you will be buying a new one anyway. Changing the battery simple with instructions molded into the plastic case so they won't ...

Zero reliability, not a good trait for an emergency power product

I had two of these already one went into fault mode and could not be used so I bought this one which was supposedly new but it went into fault mode after a couple of minutes. Belkin is of no help at all and they will not provide any schematics so I can try to fix these things. They are crap.

  • Belkin Battery Backup Review

BELKIN RG Battery back-up ModelBU3Dc001-12v is an excellent backup device for my TP-Link brand wireless router WDR-3600 and would probably work well with any wireless router or access point which uses a ac wall adapter that plugs into the back of the router that is output rated 12volt DC with negative ground and with 1-3 amps max. Caution: not all routers have 12v DC negative ground...you need to read the back of your ac-adapter. This unit is sold to battery backup AT&T Uverse gateway modem. I received it quicly and in good condition and it works as advertised. Original list price is $129.99. Thank you!

  • Bulkier than Expected, but a Reliable 12V DC Backup

I am not using this for a router, but for a home project I needed a reliable 12VDC backup power supply. This unit is larger than I expected-- but so is the battery. The internal battery is rated for 7ah, which is more than adequate to run my project for quite some time if the power ever cuts out.

  • Belkin Saves the Day

You HAVE to have a battery backup because when ATT changes you from POTS to VOIP you lose the ability to use your phone line and to make phone calls if the power goes off such as in a storm. Before VOIP you always had your phone line if the power went off and you could call for help. When ATT changed me to VOIP they gave me a free battery but after it wore out they would not give me a new one and told me I had to buy it myself. I asked them to restore my POTS line and just use the VOIP for the internet but they would not do it. Once they have you on VOIP you are stuck with it and you will have to keep buying batteries forever at your own expense. I have two Belkin batteries - one is a spare so I can hook it up immediately if the other one wears out. Otherwise I would be in trouble ...
