Super fast Switch! Like most folks who have fairly new home theater equipment, I realized that while Wi-Fi is a nice convenience, it definitely does not have the speed an Ethernet port has. Unless I want to pay through the wazoo to get additional wiring done I needed another solution. Using the existing port I attached this little plug and play switch and voila! My 2 ports are now six (would have been nice to have one extra port on the switch, but a minor gripe). One port for my TV, Blu-ray carousel, receiver, TiVo and HTPC. Money well spent
This simple Netgear AV switch is a replacement for a previous model that finally wore out after 5 years. It has a power on/off button, that newer models do not. My client was insistent that he wanted this older model. Happy to have been able to find it. Put it in place and it works great.

This item helps completely my network for online streaming. I have a complete Netgear network and have two of these units to complete it. One I use for extra connections in my computer center. Another one is connected in another room and connects my blueray player and smart big screen. I use the external switch because it is so much faster that the wifi connection. Just plug and play - Great!
Plug and play, that's it. I've had it 2 weeks and I forget its there. I have my TiVo and blu-ray player on it and I get great high speed network access. Actually, I have the NetGear (GS605AV-100NAS) 5-Ports External Switch plugged into the Netgear WNCE2001 Universal WiFi Internet Adapter and it's all good to go, at wireless gigabit speed. I watch videos from the living room TiVo and from the living room to the bedroom Tivo with no buffering issues. Sweet.
