Purchased to provide power to IP cameras and extend a long run. This unit has (4) POE ports and (4) non powered ports. The overall networking environment has 10/100M and 10/100/1000M mixed items and the GS108P handles the mix of 100Mb and 1Gb POE devices. While the standards for POE are different between the fast and slower POE devices, the GS108P automatically senses the speed and provides the proper interface for the devices. The case is all metal and ruggedly built. It is a bit more expensive than purchasing a slower POE switch but the flexibility makes up for the extra cost. I would definitely purchase this unit again!

a little giant poe switch. works flawlessly and provides a stable throughput. The one thing netgear could have done to excel this already excellent solution could be to provide some kind of rackmount setup. This is a small switch but it definitely belongs with the big boy switches... lol
Functions flawlessly. Typical Netgear reliability. I don't know why Ebay demands at least 100 characters for a review. What else can you say about a switch?? :-)
