I recently bought this router to replace a T-mobile wifi router. This worked a lot better and smoother. The wifi bar that I had with the T-mobile router showed 1 bar when I was literally next to it. I now get full bars when I'm in the same room and, also, within good range for a small home. I do wish that there was a way to stand it up for saving space. The flat design is nice, but I'd prefer to have a slim, vertical router. Installing the router took awhile, but that was because I changed the router name on installation (It worked better when i changed the name & PW AFTER the installation). Overall, it was an easy setup. I do recommend this for a small home. It gets the job done and it is good for the price.
I bought this product to replace a router that was on it's last legs. Although I'm not a fan of Belkin network products, I purchased it because the price was extremely economical and the device boasted USB storage capabilities. Sadly, this Belkin router only re-enforced my bias against Belkin devices. During initial installation, I had no major problems. I was unable to get the router to recognize my USB HDD (Seagate 3TB w/NTFS). However, it did recognize my 16GB USB flash drive. Speedtest showed perfect speeds initially, which was an upgrade from my previous router (which is why I was upgrading). The next day, however, I noticed my laptop was not connected to the Wi-Fi and would NOT connect. I had to restart the router to re-establish connectivity. Annoyed, I reconnected all of my devices and waited two more days. Lo and behold, when I walked in, my smartphone would not connect to Wi-Fi automatically. So, I ran a speedtest on the devices that were connected and my 20Mb service had been downgraded to around 3mb. I rebooted the router and my services were restored to normal. This experience continued until I purchased another router from a competing company (Buffalo). So far, I have had NO issues with this router.Read full review
A very fine ,reliably fast, offering wide versatile usage-BELKIN Share N300 offers one of the best available network resource. You can amazingly share your HDD/Pendrive storage,or can connect a Network Printer. The new MEMO technology adopted in this offers the users to connect too many devices through the wireless network. I used this to share my broadband(I am using the UT-Starcom R200 modem and the BELKIN N300 router) and install a wifi network through my home. The dislikes for the new generation of Wireless router is they must provide atleast a couple of USB 2.0 ports to connect non-wifi devices using the USBs(which makes it easier to connect-though the speeds reduces drastically).About the reliability i would suggest not to forget the BELKIN warranty, they are among the best players in the market. The model is good looking ,cheaper, but the network range is below the par.Still I will recommend this device for home-users.Read full review
I've had this router for about 1 month now and it is working well. Although, I did experience some glitches while setting this one up. I've had to reload it on my main desktop more than once to get the network back up and running. I bought it for the enhanced capabilities and protection. Most work well, but I do run into problems when I attempt to run my router in the invisible mode "no broadcast of SSID", in which my other laptops have all been fully loaded into the network and no longer know or see the network as well. That sort of defeats the purpose of running in this mode. I tried reloading all other machines to no avail. Anyone with advice on this situation please advise. I have used the web filtering mode and it seems to work well.
The product as such is awesome. The product is easy to install, easy to work and all. The only thing i would warn people going for Belking N series router dont buy them inspite of them being good products. I called the customer care with an installation problem and they took all time to take my details and at last they said this product doesnt have phone support or any support and i have to pay to get people over and get support, that sucks! Belkin is cheating people after getting all that money and giving no support just because they are discontinued. IF its discontinued and company cant give service, Belkin should make sure that they stop circulation of those products not cheating customers like this
