  • One Of The Better Routers

Pros: Connection is stable. Handles high bandwidth (streaming video) and low latency (games) very well. Cosmetics are very good. The setup interface allows you to back up and restore configurations as a CFG file on your computer which is important. Port forwarding has range forwarding and can also translate port number requests to different port numbers on the network. Equipped with wireless N functions. Cons: Ethernet is not gigabit. Router needs to be hard reset each time before the web interface can work, but the erased settings are no big deal b/c you can back up and restore configurations in a flash.

  • Good Basic Router/Wireless device

I have had one running on my house for many years, and I wanted to buy one just like it to work in another location. I flashed it to run 'DD-WRT', which gives a bit more flexibility. If you purchase an older one, make sure it is running the latest firmware....I had a little trouble with the old firmware. Its easy to upgrade it though..... This is a good basic router. Easy to set up, very reliable. I have not had great luck using the 'storage' option (this is a hard drive that is plugged directly into the router, and accessible to the network....sort of like a network drive). It would work sometimes, sometimes not. Haven't tried it again since I re-flashed the old linksys firmware. One thing.....DO change the password (and preferably the username as well) , since they all come with the ...

  • Doesn't work well with windows 7

I like it's design, the simple hookups(labeled well) and of course i've always liked Linksys prodcts. However, when it comes to the stroage feature, I don't feel like it was easy to setup. Not enough options in the storage tab or even explaination of options in the instruction manual. This product does not work well with windows 7. In order to see the storeage drive, you have to format the drive in windows 7 NTFS before setting up to router. If you format the drive through the router, it formats it to fat32, and windows 7 machines will not see it. Other than the problems with the storage, i think it is a good product.

  • Good price, excellent router

Pros: Fantastic! We purchased this router for the extended range it offered plus the NAS capability it offered using the USB2.0 expansion port. When we formatted the storage drive with NTFS, we encountered accessibility problems with the NAS drive. When we formatted the drive with FAT32, the problem was solved. Currently we have 5 computers using this router for internet and wireless printers. We have different OS's on each system, i.e. Windows 2000 Pro, Vista Pro and Windows 7 Pro and all access the attached FAT32 drive with no problems at all. In addition, we were amazed when we discovered that our system furthest away (2 floors up) from the router which has a built-in 'G' NIC, speed increased by 3x. Cons: None.

  • Router working great

I have read other reviews that say the router is not good. So far it is working flawlessly. I have not had a single problem Lasted about a year. I would have to reboot it all the time.
