This sale is for a repurposed and upgraded WatchGuard Firebox M470 appliance running the latest free version of OPNsense software.

The system has been upgraded and configured for use as a powerful OPNsense firewall/router and features:

• Intel Core i7-6700 3.40GHz / 8MB Cache Quad-Core CPU

• 8GB DDR4-2133 Non-ECC RAM, installed in one of two available DIMM slots

• 256GB 2.5\" SATA SSD

• Additional mSATA slot and 7-pin SATA connector are available for further storage upgrades

• 8 × Intel I210 Gigabit Ethernet ports

• RJ-45 console port

• 2 × USB 3.0 ports

The unit is designed for rack installation and uses three small server-grade 20mm fans, so it is not particularly quiet in its original configuration. A freely available third-party fan-speed control utility WGXepc is installed and configured to reduce fan noise. The utility can be reinstalled or adjusted as needed. The utility and setup instructions are freely available online, with additional information and user guides available through the OPNsense and pfSense community forums.
