ANTIQUE ENGLISH / SCOTTISH SIGNED TALL CASE GRANDFATHER 86\" CLOCK CIRCA 1800 Size: 85.5\" tall x 19.\" wide x 9.5\" deep. Base size: 15.75\" x 7.75\" deep. A tall case clock in mahogany with an eight-day time and strike on bell movement, the bonnet with a swan\'s neck pediment, brass finials, and foliate carvings, the dial polychrome painted with floral accents in the corners and a female personification of Britannia standing beside a lion in the arched top, marked Hay Elrick / Kirkwall between the two subsidiary dials, the waisted case with a central door flanked by fluted corner columns and resting on a rectangular base with line inlay and bracket feet - Condition:Movement appears good. Dial excellent but shows overall craquelure. Some age splits to case as seen. Built in key to lock on door. Door glass replaced. has pendulum, but weights not original. - Some carvings show losses. Most of the wear is expected with age. Base and feet appear to be original to us.
