10Gbe (10Gb over copper: ethernet/RJ45) managed switch by NetGear. This is the V1 version (managed via the Windows NetGear utility "ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility" only). The V1 models do NOT have a web UI onboard (contains no httpd) so the only GUI config is via that utility. It's currently configured as default.I purchased this in Nov. and ran it without issue in my home for a month, then replaced it with a 12-port version; otherwise, I'd still be using it.External fan mod:The OEM fans are still mounted, and they're unplugged inside. If you prefer the (very noisy) OEM fans, they are in working condition; you'd have to unbolt the external fan and tape over its chassis cover hole, in addition to plugging the OEM fans in. But if you're running this in an office/residential environment, I recommend using the external fan setup if your space allows, and it's very quiet, much quieter than the OEM fans or the replacement "quiet" fans I've tried. The external fan has a 3-speed switch for the Antec TriCool 2-ball-bearing fan; I run it on the lowest speed setting.
Downsides to the external fan:* The ProSafe's "fan" amber LED remains lit in this configuration* You can't mount it in a 1U rack, as it now requires a 2U space (immaterial if using at home)* If there's a power cut or you unplug it, you MUST wait four minutes before powering it back on, or it won't boot
Again, you can plug the OEM fans in and have it stock within minutes.
If you want/need rack mount ears, let me know and I'll send a pair w/screws.
